After being in a relationship for four years, they decided to get married, and Manjula (his sister) convinced Krishna in favor of their decision, they married on 10-FEB-2005.

The couple welcomed their first child, a boy, on 31- Aug- 2006 at the Global Hospital in Hyderabad. The boy, named Gautham Krishna, was a premature baby and was in critical condition during his birth. His condition turned stable after the doctors treated him in time. Then after seeing his son condition Mahesh babu decided to contribute his income to poor children’s who were not able to afford for any medical treatment. Then he signed in 2013 as the goodwill ambassador of Heal-a-child Foundation, a non-profit organization that offers financial support to the parents of terminally ill children to help with the cost of medical treatment.

Mahesh joined Farhan Akhtar's Men against Rape and Discrimination (MARD) campaign in August 2013 and lent his voice to the Telugu version of a poem written by Javed Akhtar.

One of the best comedian of tollywood Ali once said in an interview, when he met Mahesh babu he asked ,what will you do by earning this much money by advertising and acting, Then Mahesh babu replied that, he will donate 30% of his income to the charity, and then next moment Ali hugged Mahesh babu with unconditional love.
