India won 66 medals and stood in 3rd position in Commonwealth Games 2018.

football team captain Sunil Chhetri.
- Early Life: - Sunil Chhetri was born on 3 August 1984 to K.B. Chhetri, an officer in the Electronics and Mechanical Engineers Corps of the Indian Army, and Sushila Chhetri in Secunderabad, Telangana. His father played for the Indian Army's team while his mother and her twin sisters played for the Nepal women's national team. Chhetri started playing football from a young age taking part in various tournaments.

Nehru Cup), he scored 4 goals which helped India to win the cup after 1997.

In 2008 SAFF Championship, Chhetri scored 2
goals which helped India to reach finals. (In Finals India lost against
Maldives)

In 2008 AFC Challenges cup, Chhetri scored 4
goals out of that he scored Hat-trick goal against Tajikistan that to in Finals
which helped India to lift the cup. With that victory India qualified for 2011
Asian cup after 24years.

Chhetri
scored and assisted in a 4-1 home win against MACAU in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup
qualifiers, with this win India qualified for ASIAN CUP 2019.
