Interesting facts about English language!


·         Alphabets comes from the first two letters of the Greek alphabet: Alpha, Beta.
·         Least used letter in the alphabet    -       Q
·         If you try alphabets without moving your lips and tongue every letter will sound same.

·         Sentence using every alphabet is “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”, and this such sentence is called as “PANGRAM.”
·         Longest word without vowel – “Rhythm”
·         The letter having 3 syllables – “W” whereas all the others have 1.
·         Dot over the letter “i” is called as “Title”.
·         About 100 languages use the same alphabet like in English
·         The most common word used in English is “THE”
·         The longest word used in English without “E” is “FLOCCINAUCINIHILIPILIFICATION”
·         Most of the English words start with “S”
·         Common used word containing with no letter repetition is “UNCOPYRIGHTABLE”
Words always in plural form spectacles, binoculars, scissors, shears, tongs, gallows, trousers, jeans, shoes etc.
